Tell me why you would take my gif

And then isolate a single frame

and then repost it as a still image

Like, there are a billion, trillion ways for you to get screencaps. Or make the caps yourself. Or! Ask me to do it for you. You don’t like gifs? That’s cool, I can make a cap for you, and it would be much, much better quality than a still frame from a gif.

And then the reposting—like, I don’t care if you reblog. I don’t care if you use my gifs as reaction images—I encourage it. In fact, I’ve seen people just repost the whole gif itself, sans credit, and I can’t even get worked up about that. Like, it’s a gif. It’s tumblr. I don’t take it seriously. But I’ll find it. You probably found it through tracked tags, right? Well, it should be obvious that I track these same tags, and I will see you doing this. And yes, I know it’s from my gif, because the text is still on and it’s the same font, in the same place, at the same size, with the same coloring.

It’s just when you take a still frame from a gif, it just plain looks shitty. Why not get the original screencap and use that instead? If you can’t, ask me. Or someone else who can.

… yeah. I guess I’m more upset about the quality issue than anything. It boggles the mind why you would want to post something that crappy, but hey. Oh well. I’ll shrug it off and move on. Just a little bit of venting before bedtime.
